Sunset Intense was effectively an Extrait version inspired by Baccarat rouge 540 in all but name. Our Sunset in Heaven is a top 10 selling fragrance.
We have invested heavily in captive (proprietory) molecules in the past 2 years and increased our palette of naturals.
It would have been criminal to have access to these special molecules and not revisit this iconic Baccarat Rouge 540 accord and we have used no less than 5 captive molecules in this extreme version to build upon the originals ingredients that are unremarkable as molecules but were groundbreaking in their simplicity.
Sunset Extreme is a fragrance filled with unique and expensive molecules and they are dosed in abundance. Another reason to revisit this fragrances DNA is the paradox that there is a percentage of the population that are unable to smell the magic of Baccarat Rouge 540 due to the specific ingredients that they used at Maison Francis Kurdjian. Testimonies online say "I cannot smell Baccarat Rouge 540" or "it smells like the dentists and latex gloves". We have also had emails from customers who purchased Sunset in Heaven that say it smells of alcohol. One such customer of ours sold their bottle of Sunset in Heaven because they could not smell the notes. An admin of a fragrance enthusiasts group purchased the bottle and reported that it smelled amazing and exactly the same as his past bottles of Sunset in Heaven. Anosmia is a very real issue with some fragrance wearers. They are nose blind to certain ingredients (especially musks thay are large molecules that the nose blocks out to focus on smaller processable molecules).
Using the knowledge acquired by our perfumer who has conducted tens of thousands of manual trials over the past 6 years to improve fragrances, he has selected a range of specific molecules to build layers of notes to make a uniquely extreme version using the power of these proprietory molecules. Our perfumer and proprietor is a problem solver at heart and he hopes that this version can be enjoyed by all and ultimately an extreme version for those who have always loved this DNA.
